Out of the 103 players competing for the fourth event of the World Series of Poker Europe, Gus Hansen emerged victorious. From the €10,000 buy in that each player put up, the total prize pool for the whole event totaled to €1,030,000. The final 16 players got some of that prize money, while the 87 who were eliminated have somewhat lighter bankrolls.
Day 2 event proved quite exciting, with many notable players getting lost along the way. Some of the players that were eliminated before the finals included Mike Matusow, John Juanda, Chris Ferguson, Phil Hellmuth, Carlos Mortenson, Jeffrey Lisandro, Erik Seidel, and Andy Block. Gus Hansen went head to head with Jim Collopy. Although he had a hard time with Collopy, he turned out victorious after showing 4h 4d versus Collopy’s 4K’s. With the victory, Hansen’s all time tournament winnings now amount to about $7,245,975.
